C RadixSort
GeneralAs always, whenever I find or write some piece of useful and reuseable code somewhere, I post it up here as well. This time it’s the C version of the radix sort algorithm for integer numbers.

Submission Impossible
GeneralI did not get much sleep recently. The main reason, besides the terribly humid weather, was our submission for the ISWC’09. After presenting the first runnable version back a few weeks, we put much time into writing a paper for the conference and now we hope to get accepted. Maybe, after being accepted, I will post some materials including videos and/or posters from the presentation at the OpenHouse day.
Now I am back to my main project on classification. I already wrote a part of the paper and now we (my boss and me) are playing with a few promising optimizations. Even better, I have time to visit the more interesting parts of Japan. So more photos are to come!

AGAPE 2009
GeneralNano and I attended to the Spring School on Fixed Parameter and Exact Algorithms on Corse. First of all: the talks where just awesome. About every big name in The Field I Really Really Really Want to Write My Thesis In was there! Probably because Corse looks like this:

That was the beach about, oh, 50 meters away from our place. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
I’m going to post my photos later on, the above was taken by Standa (a cool Czech guy we met there) whose gallery you really should take a look at — he’s a great photographer.

What happens in Tokyo, stays in Tokyo.
Culture
To pack it into a few sentences: Things are just great. I am satisfied by my work’s progress and I am having way too much fun on and off the job. My biggest wish right now would be a 40 hour day so I could do everything I want to do before I leave again. In addition to my own work, I am currently participating in collaborative efforts to publish another paper. Two fellow students from Munich and I developed a prototype for a 3D-Frontend for Amazon. The Amazon database is extended by semantic information from the web and the system uses clustering to help people find shopping buddies. We will submit it to the Use Track in the ISWC’09.
